OXFORD v LION CUBS, PREVIEW

LEICESTER can officially seal the WSRA NDL title when they travel to second placed Oxford on Sunday (August 25, 3pm).

The Lion Cubs continued their unbeaten campaign with a late fightback to earn a 46-44 win at Sheffield on Thursday - a result which virtually clinched the trophy thanks to a staggering race points difference over their next opponents.

They head to Sandy Lane leading 47-41 after their home win in June - so reaching 43 for the aggregate point during this fixture would mathematically regain the title they won in 2022, and narrowly missed out on in 2023.

Team manager Dave Howard said: “The team have been fantastic all year and that’s why we’re in this superb position.

“It will be a tough one at Oxford but together, the team are full of confidence and they want to clinch the title now.”

Rider Replacement will once again operate for the injured Vinnie Foord whilst captain Joe Thompson is now available to ride at No.1 after his meeting for Plymouth at Workington was postponed. Our thanks to Ben Trigger for agreeing to the original guest booking.

OXFORD: Luke Killeen (if fit), Jacob Clouting, Connor Coles, Ashton Vale, Jody Scott, Senna Summers, Declan Killeen.

LEICESTER: Ben Trigger, Sonny Springer, Tom Spencer, Vinnie Foord R/R, Luke Crang, Max James, Arran Butcher.
